Obituary: Timothy Wayne ‘Tim’ Nalley, 61, Bardstown
Timothy Wayne “Tim” Nalley, 61, of Bardstown, died peacefully at his home Wednesday, June 18, 2025. He was born Oct. 26, 1963 in Marion County and was raised in Loretto.

He was known for his warm heart, love of family, and passion for classic cars. He spent part of his career working at South Central Bell, where he made many lasting friendships. He was an avid car enthusiast, delighting in collecting and displaying model cars. He also enjoyed gathering with friends and family for card games, cherishing every moment spent together. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his sense of humor, and the joy he brought to those around him. Tim’s legacy lives on in the memories shared by his loved ones and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Truston and Mary Elsie Ruley Nalley; two sisters, Joann Gootee and infant Mary Ann Nalley; four brothers, Philip Nalley, Tommy Nalley, and infants David Nalley and John Herbert Nalley.
Survivors include two children, Caressa Bartley (Justin) of Loretto and Brandon Nalley (Shayna Maynard) of Hodgenville; four sisters, Mary Cecil (Bobby) of Bardstown, Linda Cecil (Louis) of New Hope, Carolyn Gootee of Lexington, and Jenny Spannknebel of Louisville; three brothers, Leo Nalley (Frankie) and Joe “Tic” Nalley (Ellen), both of Loretto, and Charles Nalley (Judy) of Lebanon; one brother-in-law, Frank Gootee of Loretto; four grandchildren, Nathan, Mikey, Anna, and Jesse; and a good friend and neighbor, Keith Miles.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with the Rev. Scott J. Wimsett officiating with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2025, at Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto with a 7 p.m. prayer service by Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
Memorial donations may go to American Diabetes Association.
Pallbearers are Eddie Cecil, Chuck Nalley, Jamie Yates, Matthew Hamilton, Charlie Spannknebel, and David Nalley.
Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
