Mary Beatrice Fields, 89, Bardstown

Mary Beatrice Fields, 89, of Bardstown died Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Life Care of Bardstown. She was the former Beatrice Welch and a native ofNelsonCounty. She was a retired employee of Jim Beam Distillery a former employee of T.W. Samuels and the Bardstown sewing factory. She was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church and the St. Gregory Altar Society.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Thomas Fields; a son, Keith Fields; her parents, Russell & Omie Clark Welch; one sister, Myrtle Sinclair; and one brother Marvin Welch.

Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Stallings and her husband Frank of Cox’s Creek, Wanda Gilpin and her husband Jimmy of Bardstown, Rita Smith and her husband Steve of Bardstown; two sons, Wilford Fields and Gary Fields and his wife Kathy, both of Deatsville; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012, at St. Gregory Catholic Church. The Rev. John Schwartzlose is celebrant and the Rev. Culpepper Elliott is concelebrant. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012, at the Greenwell-Houghlin Northside Funeral Home, with prayers at 6 p.m.

Expressions of sympathy to Masses in honor of Mrs. Beatrice Fields.

Greenwell-Houghlin Northside Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
