Rev. Dennis Lane Borca, 73, New Haven

Rev. Dennis Lane Borca, 73, of New Haven, died suddenly Sunday, June 30, 2013, at his home.

He was born in Dearborn, Mich. and was a Catholic by faith. He spent many years as a Franciscan friar and he was a retired priest from Sacred Heart Church in Munising, Mich. He spent the last eight years in Nelson County working in supply ministry with the area churches.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pamiro Borca and Lillian Macke Borca. He had no living relatives.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, in the Skakel Chapel at the Abbey of Gethsemani with Archbishop Joseph Kurtz as celebrant and the Rev. Curtis Thomas as concelebrant. Burial is in the Abbey of Gethsemani cemetery.

Memorial Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
