Mary Clarissa Mudd Kelly, 86, Lebanon

Mary Clarissa Mudd Kelly, 86, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Colonial Health & Rehab Center in Bardstown. She was born on June 12, 1925, in Lebanon. She worked at Lerman Brothers until her marriage, then babysat many children to later become known as “Grandma Kelly”. She was a lifelong member of St. Charles Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Michael Kelly, Sr; her parents, Charles Robert and Mary Helena Spalding Mudd; two brothers, Joseph Ellert Mudd and Charles Robert Mudd, Jr; two sisters, Hazel Marie Mudd Thompson and Helen Ann Mudd; and one brother-in-law, Bernard Thompson.

Survivors include one daughter, Helen Jeanette (David Blandford) Kelly of Lexington; two sons, Richard Michael Kelly, Jr. of Lebanon and Charles Donald (Nell) Kelly of Georgetown; five sisters, Dolores (Francis) Thomson, Benita (Larry, Jr.) Riney, and Sr. Susan Mary Mudd, OSU, all of Owensboro, Maggie (Patrick, Sr.) Hayden, and Dianne (Vic) Simi, both of Lexington; three brothers, Victor (Pauline) Mudd, of Lebanon, Leonard Mudd, Sr. and Joe Lawrence (Brenda) Mudd, both of Louisville; one sister-in-law, Patricia Marirea Mudd of Louisville; four grandchildren, Alex Blandford, Ryan Blandford, and Kristen Blandford, all of Lexington, and Brad Kelly of Georgetown; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, at St. Charles Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim Graf officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon with a 7 p.m. prayer service led by Deacon Joe Dant.
