Two-vehicle crash sends three to hospital with minor injuries
Friday, July 5, 2013, 2 a.m. — Three people suffered minor injuries Thursday night in a two-vehicle collision on KY 49, Loretto Road, about a mile south of Hutchins Lane. The accident was reported at about 8:30 Thursday evening.
The Bardstown Fire Department was dispatched due to a report of smoke coming from one of the vehicles. There was no fire, and fire crews stayed at the scene to assist EMS with the victims.
The injured included a the 50-year-old female driver of one of the vehicles who complained of chest and hand pain; her 16-year-old male passenger who complained of chest pain, and a 24-year-old woman who complained of neck and back pain. All three were transported by Nelson County EMS to Flaget Memorial Hospital for treatment. Other passengers in the vehicles did not require treatment.
The accident closed Loretto Road for about an hour until the vehicles were removed from the roadway. Firefighters were on scene for about 30 minutes.
