Pizza delivery driver robbed, assaulted Tuesday on Ashberry Drive

Friday, May 8, 2015 — A pizza delivery driver was brutally assaulted and robbed Tuesday night after he delivered a pizza to an address in the 100 block of Ashberry Drive.

police_badgeBardstown Police responded at 10:54 p.m. for an assault reported in the area. The victim told police that after he delivered the pizza, he was jumped and beaten by two black males who took the cash he had with him — approximately $20 — and his car keys. The victim had several teeth knocked out and suffered several facial injuries as a result of the assault. He was treated at the scene by Nelson County EMS but opted not to be transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital for evaluation and treatment.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are following up on tips regarding possible suspects in this assault and robbery. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or knows information about the incident to contact them, (502) 348-6811 or Nelson County Dispatch, (502) 348-3211.

In response to this robbery and assault, Bardstown Police are starting a robbery reduction detail that will saturate high-crime areas with officers. A police press release said police will be proactive in the areas where an additional police presence is warranted.
