THURSDAY, JAN. 12, 2017

ASSAULT. A Bardstown man was arrested Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, in connection with an alleged domestic assault.

According to the citation, on the evening of Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, Bardstown Police were dispatched to a home on Caldwell Avenue for a domestic assault. Derek M. Kiesler, 24, of Bardstown, allegedly struck a woman several times in the face and arms, and struck a 9-month-old child in the face. He also allegedly struck the woman in the head with a frozen roll of sausage and threatened her life. Kiesler fled the scene before police arrived but called police several hours later to let them know where he was. He was arrested and charged with assault, second-degree, domestic violence; assault, fourth-degree (child abuse); and wanton endangerment, second-degree.

THEFT. A Bardstown woman was arrested Thursday evening, Jan. 12, 2017, on theft-related changes.

According to the citation, Emily B. Walden, 25, of Bardstown was allegedly observed hiding merchandise in her bag and attempting to leave the Bardstown Kroger store. She was arrested on one charge of theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting under $500.

SUNDAY, JAN. 15, 2017

ILLEGAL DRUGS. A Bardstown man was arrested early Sunday morning, Jan. 15, 2017, on drug-related charges.

According to the citation, at 2:20 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 15, Bardstown Police were responding for a female subject who was needed assistance. Officers located the woman and a male subject with her. Officer observed the male subject was nervous, and determined the man had several outstanding warrants for his arrest. During the pre-arrest search officers found a small bag with a white, crystal-like substance, a bag with a white powdery substance and several pills. Officers arrested Justin M. Adams, 29 on charges of possession of controlled substances, first-degree (methamphetamine); possession of controlled substances, first-degree (heroin); possession of controlled substances, second-degree (drug unspecified); illegal possession of a legend drug; and prescription controlled substance not in proper container.

MONDAY, JAN. 16, 2017

THEFT. A Boston man was arrested Monday afternoon, Jan. 16, 2017, on theft-related charges.

According to the citation, Bardstown Police were dispatched to the Bardstown Kroger store on a shoplifting complaint. Kroger personnel allegedly observed the subject take several items without paying. Police arrested Brian K. Johnston, 35, on one charge of theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting under $500.
