Obituary: James “Bruce” Ritchie, 66, formerly of Bardstown

James “Bruce” Ritchie, 66, of Louisville, and formerly of Bardstown, died Thursday June 15, 2017, in Louisville. He was born April 23, 1951, in Bardstown. He retired from General Electric, and was a member of the Catholic faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, C.M. and Lorene Ritchie Jr.; one sister, Mary Alice Ritchie Peterson; and two brothers, Curtis M. Ritchie and Joseph D. Ritchie.

He is survived by two sons, Bruce Wayne Ritchie and Anthony Lynn (Amanda) Ritchie, both of Louisville; five grandchildren, Emily Claire Ritchie, Brandon Lynn Ritchie, Abigail Sue Ritchie, Ashleigh Marie Ritchie, and Kameron Lee Ritchie; and several nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at St. Thomas Catholic Church with the Rev. Jason Harris officiating. Burial is in St. Thomas Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, June 19, 2017, and 8-9:15 Tuesday at Barlow Funeral Home with a prayer service Monday evening.

Memorial contributions may go to Masses.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
