Monday, Aug. 7, 2017 — The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of Saturday evening’s shooting death in the Chaplin area of Nelson County.

According to Nelson County Sheriff Ed Mattingly, deputies were dispatched to a home in the 1700 block of Highview Church Road on a report of a shooting. Deputies arrived to find 42-year-old Charles A. Rogers deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
