One dead in Friday afternoon single-vehicle crash on Stiles Road

Friday, Aug. 18, 2017 — One person died Friday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Stiles Road near its intersection with Gleanings Road.

Just after 1 p.m. Friday, the New Hope and Rolling Fork Fire Departments responded to a report of an injury accident with entrapment on Stiles Road. The first firefighters on the scene reported that a full-size pickup truck apparently left the roadway, hit a tree and overturned. Nelson County EMS responded and determined the victim was deceased. The Nelson County Coroner and a Kentucky State Police accident reconstructionist were requested. First-responders were on the scene until about 3 p.m.
