Bardstown man arrested on charges of stalking, violating protective orders

Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017 — The Elizabethtown News-Enterprise reported Wednesday that a Bardstown man was arrested Tuesday on charges of stalking, violations of a Kentucky protective order and threats against two women.
Bruce Petraska, 50, of Bardstown was arrested and and lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center.
The News-Enterprise reports that arrest warrants state Petraska allegedly made threats against a woman and on at least two occasions between Sept. 6 and Sept. 26, violated a protective order by driving within 500 feet of Cecilia residence and a school — both places Petraska was ordered not to visit.
The warrant states that Petraska allegedly sent text messages and social media messages to the woman. After he was blocked by the woman, he changed his phone number and social media profiles. He also is alleged to have threatened to injury two people, the newspaper reports.
Petraska was arrested and charged with stalking, first-degree; stalking, second-degree; terroristic threatening (2 counts); harassing communications; and violation of a Kentucky protective order (2 counts).
The first-degree stalking charge is a Class D felony punishable by one to five years in prison. The other charges are misdemeanors.
Petraska is due in Hardin District Court at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13. His bond was set at $10,000.
