Friday, Nov. 10, 2017 — Kenny Fogle filed Thursday afternoon as a Democratic candidate for Nelson County judge executive — the first person to file as a candidate for the county’s highest elected office in anticipation of the May primary.

Fogle was previously a candidate for judge executive in the Democratic primaries in 2006 and 2010.

In a statement released to the media Thursday, Fogle states he is running for judge executive “to offer myself to the voters as a choice.

“I want to bring anyone and everyone who has an idea and a voice to become a part of the solution and my style of leadership is let people explore all the possibilities, explore ways to make things happen and explore ways to make it financially feasible without burdening our taxpayers,” he said through the press release.

“I am not running against anyone, but do think I have a different style of leadership and welcoming that has not been evident in the past many years in our local county government. I do stand strongly for term limits in political office and believe 25 years is far too long for anyone.”

JANUARY DEADLINE. The last day to file as a candidate for an office that must run in the May 2018 primary is 4 p.m. Jan. 30, 2018.
