Christmas parade organizers seeking donations for children’s books

NC GAZETTE / WBRT RADIO
STAFF REPORT

Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017 — The organizers of the Bardstown Kiwanis Club 2017 Christmas Parade are looking for businesses, individuals, and civic groups to help sponsor an effort to promote literacy and provide books to the children of families who attend the Christmas parade Thursday, Dec. 7.

The organizers also want to give books to the children who attend the parade a copy of one of the books written by the Christmas parade grand marshal, Leigh Anne Florence. Florence is the author of the popular “Woody the Weiner Dog” children’s’ book series.

Organizers say the Nelson County Public Library staff will take care of the distribution of the books, but now money is needed to cover the costs of the books. Those who donate will be recognized as book sponsors for the parade.

Click here to download the donation form to support providing the children’s books to the youthful Christmas parade visitors. You can mail the form and donation to Bardstown Kiwanis Club, P.O.Box 635, Bardstown, or drop it by the WBRT studios at 106 S. Third St, Bardstown.
