Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017 — Two women and a male juvenile were taken into custody Sunday after an investigation Sunday into reports of thefts from vehicles in the Corman’s Crossing neighborhood.

According to a press release from the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, a number of Peabody Loop residents reported vehicle break-ins and thefts from their vehicles Sunday morning beginning at about 6:30 a.m. At least five vehicles were broken into, with various items and two firearms taken in the thefts.

At about 9:50 a.m., residents reported observing a suspicious vehicle in the area. Deputies responded and located the vehicle and found stolen property in and around the vehicle.

Two people were taken into custody at that time, Hannah Farmer, 23, and a male juvenile. The investigation led officers to a home on Kentucky Avenue where a third suspect, Abigail Ritchie, 21, was arrested, and more stolen property was recovered.

All three have been charged with receiving stolen property over $500, which is a Class D felony punishable by one to five years in prison if convicted.

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected in the case.
