First Cedar Creek Baptist announces Christmas season performances, services

Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017 — The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church will continue her Christmas traditions of more than 75 years beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017.

The stage production of the play “Christmas Show Spectacular,” by Mindy Starns Cark, will be performed by church youth, followed by “Why Christmas?” a work by Elinor Brown, that features performers from four families, will follow. Both plays are produced by special arrangement with Eldridge Publishing Company.

Following the plays, the traditional treat of an apple, an orange, a banana, and a candy cane in a brown paper bag will be given to each person attending.

Other traditions, though not as old, include Community Christmas Caroling on Thursday evening, Dec. 21, 2017. Participants will meet at 6 p.m. in the church parking lot.

The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church adult choir.

During the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, the adult choir will sing “Come and Behold Him: King of Kings” as Interim Pastor Gerald Hegwood, presents the message interspersed between songs.

The Candlelight Christmas Eve Service begins at 11 p.m. Sunday night.

Everyone is invited to the services and activities of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church including Bible Study for all ages at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday and worship services at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. (except on Christmas Eve).

The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church is located five miles west of Bardstown off Highway 62 (Boston Road) on Highway 733 (Bellwood Road).
