Obituary: Myrtle F. ‘Sissy’ Goodpaster, 80, Cox’s Creek

Myrtle F. “Sissy” Goodpaster, 80, of Cox’s Creek, returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018. She was born in Nelson County July 1, 1937, to the late Hubert and Mildred Breeden.

Among those who preceded her in death include her husband, Leonard E. Goodpaster Sr.; one son, Russ Lee Goodpaster; one sister, Carolyn Trent; two brothers, Junior Breeden and Ivo Mudd.

She leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Darryl Goodpaster (Rachel), Leonard E. Goodpaster Jr. (Lisa), Greg Goodpaster (Rita) and Richard “Beets” Goodpaster; three sisters, Peggy Borland, Mildred “Millie” Bowman and Debbie Ingram; four brothers, James “Buddy” Breeden, William “Bill” Breeden, Gary Breeden and John Breeden; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

The funeral is noon Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home in Mount Washington (Hwy 44 E at Winning Colors Dr.) with burial in Highland Memory Gardens.

Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, and 9 a.m.-noon Thursday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to Hosparus.

The Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home in Mount Washington is in charge of arrangements.
