Obituary: Mary Ruth Elmore Pearson, 85, Bardstown

Mary Ruth Elmore Pearson, 85, of Bardstown, formerly of Willisburg, died at 9:35 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at the Colonial Health & Rehab Center in Bardstown. She was a native of Bloomfield, born Nov. 18, 1932, to the late Martin and Bessie Elizabeth Hagan Elmore. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest C. Pearson (June 12, 2012); one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Pearson; three sisters, Bernette Nichols, Alene Yates and Kathleen Curtsinger; four brothers, Jimmy Elmore, Junior Elmore, Rudolph Elmore and Carroll Elmore; one granddaughter, Peighton Pearson; and one grandson, Mike Hardin.

Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Norton (Jackie) of Taylorsville; one son, Darrell Pearson (Susan) of Bardstown; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at the Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield with the Rev. Danny Haynes officiating. Burial is in the Highview Cemetery in Chaplin.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, at the funeral home.

The Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
