Obituary: Charles Ralph ‘Tinker’ Culver, 85, Culvertown

Charles Ralph “Tinker” Culver, 85, of Culvertown, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was a retired employee of General Electric with 38 years of service. He was also a 23-year employee of Promotional Wood Products. He was an avid fisherman, a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Culvertown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Leon and Elenora Bryan Culver; four sisters, Faye Rogers, Beverly Rogers, Zelma “Snookie” Green, and Billy Joyce Thornsberry.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Williamson Culver; two daughters, Karen Hutchens (Patrick) and Kathy Turrey (Bob); four sons, Keith (Sue) Culver, Kerry (Kathleen) Culver, Kent Culver, and Karl Culver; one sister, Vanessa O’Bryan (Wart); one brother, Derriel Culver (Marie); 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

The Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial in the St. Catherine Cemetery in New Haven.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Catherine Catholic School in New Haven.

The Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
