Obituary: Emanuel Fredrick Dorton Jr., 70, Vine Grove

Emanuel Fredrick Dorton Jr., 70, of Vine Grove, died Monday, March 12, 2018, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville. He was born April 5, 1947, in Louisville to the late Emanuel, Sr and Dorothy Cornell Dorton. He was a former employee of International Paper Company where he worked as a clamp truck driver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sylvia Griffin.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Risinger Dorton; one daughter, Angela (Butch) Keeling of Bloomfield; three sons, Emanuel F. Dorton, III, Brian Dorton both of Fern Creek, and Anthony Dorton of Vine Grove; two sisters, Frances Taylor of Mount Washington and Joyce (Donnie) Watkins of Louisville; three brothers, Billy (Nikki) Dorton and David (Betty) Dorton, both of Florida, and Keith (Delitha) Dorton of Louisville; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family has followed his wishes for a non-ceremonial cremation service without visitation or funeral service.

Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, is in charge of arrangements.
