Obituary: Anna Lawrence Phillips, 75, Bardstown

Anna Lawrence Phillips, 75, of Bardstown, died Thursday, March 15, 2018, at her residence after a long illness. She was born Nov. 8, 1942, in Fairdale to the late Edwin DeRoy and Katherine McFall Lawrence. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church, a retired employee of the Kentucky Department of Transportation, a lifelong volunteer for Special Olympics and a Kentucky Colonel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Mark Phillips; and three brothers, Ralph Lee Lawrence, John Lawrence and Eddie Lawrence.

She is survived by one daughter, Glenda Phillips of Bardstown; four sisters, Edith (Marvin) Kamber of Louisville, Katherine Louise Allen of Pekin, Ind.., Marie (Corky) Carroll of Louisville and Elsie (Ron) Ernspiker of Mount Washington; three brothers, Paul (Louise) Lawrence, Dennis (Wanda) Lawrence and Richard Lawrence, all of Louisville; one aunt, Mary Ruth Lawrence of Corydon, Ind.; one uncle, Roy McFall of Louisville; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at the Houghlin Greenwell Funeral Home with Bro. Rodney Lynch officiating. Burial is in Bardstown Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2018, and after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family request that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to WHAS Crusade for Children or Hospice of Nelson County.

The Houghlin Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
