Wednesday, March 21, 2018 — The driver of a slop truck was injured Wednesday morning when the semi tractor-trailer he was driving slid off snow-slickened Lawrenceburg Road and overturned.

At 7:59 a.m. Wednesday, the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, Northeast Nelson Fire Department and Nelson County EMS responded to the area of 4335 Lawrenceburg Road for a report of a slop truck overturned and that the driver had been ejected with serious injuries.

Deputy Jerry Hardin determined that the truck, driven by Terry W. Ockerman, 55, of Chaplin, slid off the highway, struck a tree and overturned. Ockerman climbed out of the truck after it came to rest. The tank on the truck ruptured, spilling its contents.

Ockerman was treated at the scene by EMS and then transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
