Obituary: Thomas Perry McGaughey, 72, Taylorsville

Thomas Perry McGaughey, 72, of Taylorsville, died Friday, April 13, 2018, in Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville. He was born Oct. 23, 1945, in Spencer County to the late Stanley and Dortha Mae Scrogham McGaughey. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a former truck driver and farmer, and a member of The Old Country Church in Mount Eden.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Vogel McGaughey; five daughters, Virginia (Leon) Salmon of Hardinsburg, Patricia (James) Barnes of Shelbyville, Amanda (Andy) Lewis and Cheryl (Jim) Hensen, both of Mount Eden, and Connie McDonald of Lawrenceburg; two sons, Brian Manero and Robert (Felicia) Manero, both of Shepherdsville; two sisters, Helen Marie McGaughey of Cox’s Creek and Wanda Brown of Louisville; one brother, Charles McGaughey of Taylorsville; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at The Old Country Church with the Rev. Deborah Peach officiating. Burial is in Highland Memory Garden.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018, at the church.

The Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
