Obituary: Viola Leathers, 94, Bardstown

Viola Leathers, 94, of Bardstown, died Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Windsor Gardens. She was born Aug. 20, 1923, in Manhattan, New York. She was a loving wife, mom, and grandma, a faithful Christian, and a member of N.E. Park Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Leathers; one daughter, Linda Broaddus; her parents, John and Linda Moore; one sister, Winnie Schryver; two brothers, Leroy Moore and Herbie Davidson; and one granddaughter, Marvena Livers.

She is survived by two daughters, Joan (Walt) Norton of Bardstown and Donna (Preston) Samuels of Mount Washington; one son-in-law, Bill Broaddus of Bloomfield; one brother-in-law, Ralph Leathers of Georgetown, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield with the Rev. Lisa Zahalka officiating.

Visitation is noon-2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may go to Kentucky Baptist Children’s Home.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
