New Haven woman dies in Hardin County two-car crash Monday afternoon

Monday, April 30, 2018 — A New Haven woman died Monday, April 30, 2018, in a two-car crash in Hardin County.

The Kentucky State Police troopers were dispatched to an injury accident Monday at 2:23 p.m. on KY 210, Hodgenville Road south of Elizabethtown.

Judy Summers, 76, of Elizabethtown, was traveling east on KY 210 in a 2002 Toyota Avalon, when her car crossed into the westbound lane and struck a 2007 Toyota Yaris operated by Helen Bartley, 57, of New Haven.

Summers was airlifted to University Hospital and was reported in critical condition Monday evening. Bartley was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin Count Coroner’s Office.

Hodgenville Road was shut down for two hours while Bryan Washer, a KSP detective and  reconstructionist, investigated the crash. The investigation is ongoing by KSP.
