Three people arrested after search warrant turns up drugs, cash, weapons

Friday, May 18, 2018 — Three Bardstown residents were arrested Wednesday on drug-related charges following a search warrant executed by police of two area homes.

Detectives with the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force, Bardstown Police Department and the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office conducted the search of the homes Wednesday at 208 Barberry Lane and 1008 Farmaway Drive. The search resulted in three arrests and seizure of 9 ounces of methamphetamine, one pound of high-grade marijuana, five ounces of cocaine, and approximately $19,000 in cash.

Christopher “Scotty” Sheckles, 38, of Bardstown was arrested and faces charges of trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree (cocaine); trafficking in marijuana (8 ounces to 5 pounds); trafficking in controlled substances (methamphetamine); possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; tampering with physical evidence; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Also arrested was Willa Stivers, 42, of Bardstown, on charges of trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree (cocaine); trafficking in marijuana (8 ounces to 5 pounds); trafficking in controlled substances (methamphetamine); and possession of drug paraphernalia.

James Poynter, 26, of Bardstown was the third person arrested by police. He faces charges of
trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree (cocaine); and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Additional charges are expected as the investigation moves forward, police say.
