Obituary: Clellon ‘Kelly’ Shewmaker, 88, Boston

Clellon “Kelly” Shewmaker, 88, of Boston, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. He was born June 17, 1929, in Springfield. He retired from South Central Bell. He was a U.S. Navy and National Guard veteran, a 30-year volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America, and a member of Telephone Pioneers. He was a member of Youngers Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Clara Shewmaker; two sisters, Jewell Settles and Nina Hendren; three brothers, Marshall Shewmaker, Manuel Shewmaker and Elwood Shewmaker; and one granddaughter, Lisa.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Brenda Shewmaker of Boston; three children, Gary Shewmaker of Pineville, Linda McNally of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Kelly Shewmaker of Dayton, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018, at the Barlow Funeral Home with Dr. Tim Harris officiating. Burial is in the Willisburg Cemetery.

Visitation is noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may go to Youngers Creek Baptist Church or the donor’s favorite charity.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
