Obituary: Terry Wayne Thompson, 46, Bardstown

TERRY WAYNE THOMPSON

Terry Wayne Thompson, 46, of Bardstown, died Sunday, June 10, 2018, at his residence. He was born Sept. 2, 1971, in Bardstown to Ronald Edward and Susan McGee Thompson. He graduated from Nelson County High School in 1989, and earned a degree in Surgical Technology from Spencerian College in 2004. He was employed by Sightpath Medical for 14 years as a Surgical Technician, traveling to hospitals in southeastern Kentucky. He worked for Amazon on the weekends. He was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church. He loved Eric Church concerts and attended several concert events.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Edward Thompson; his maternal grandparents, Charles and Lena McGee; his paternal grandfather, Herman Thompson; his fiance’s mother, Theresa Hall; and his best friend, Randy Pinkston.

He is survived by his mother, Susan McGee Thompson of Cox’s Creek; his fiancé, Nickie Hall; her two sons, Tyler Hall of St. Louis, Mo., and Preston Hall Pointer of Bardstown; his paternal grandmother, Mildred Thompson of Bardstown; her fiancé’s father, Bruce Hall of Cox’s Creek; five uncles, Jerry (June) McGee, Jimmy (Patsy) McGee, and Don (Judy) Thompson, all of Bardstown, Glen (TJ) Thompson of New Albany, Ind., and Neal (Charlotte) Thompson of Cox’s Creek; and his fiancé’s brother, Aaron Hall of Bardstown.

Cremation was chosen by the family. A memorial prayer service is 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with the Rev. Trumie Culpepper Elliott officiating. Burial is in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation is noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to Hospice of Nelson County.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
