Wednesday, June 27, 2018 — Celebrate our country’s Independence and the birth of an iconic American composer on Wednesday, July 4th with The Stephen Foster Story in Bardstown.

The celebration begins just outside the amphitheater at 6:30 p.m. Kids of all ages can join in on the fun with watermelon-eating and hula-hooping contests, bounce houses, face-painting, the Kentucky Home Guard Band, and more.

The Stephen Foster Story begins at 8 p.m., and during intermission, a free cupcake is available to each audience member to celebrate Stephen Foster’s 192nd birthday. Immediately following the show, a fantastic fireworks display will be set off above the amphitheatre, allowing the audience to enjoy the lively patriotic tradition from the comfort of their seats.

“This is one of our favorite events of the year.” said Johnny Warren, managing artistic director of The Stephen Foster Story. “It’s a fun, family atmosphere and the fireworks are just incredible. There is an extra excitement in the air on this night, especially this year as we celebrate our 60th anniversary season.”

Nelson County residents can receive a discounted rate of only $12 for adults $6 for children, plus fees. For tickets and more information about this event, please call the box office at 502-348-5971 or visit stephenfoster.com/julyfourth. Generously sponsored by FiveStar & Marathon.
