Monday, July 2, 2018 — The Nelson County Board of Education met briefly Monday evening and voted unanimously to support a personnel decision by Superintendent Wes Bradley to demote Kimberly Brown, the district’s former director of secondary education to a teaching position.

KIMBERLY BROWN

Brown was one of several Central Office-level employees who were demoted or whose contracts were not renewed as part of Superintendent Bradley’s restructuring of the district’s Central Office staff.

Brown is the only one of the individuals demoted who exercised their right to challenge the demotion through an administrative hearing.

Monday’s hearing was the end result of an administrative hearing held last Tuesday with the board of education. That hearing was held in executive session at Brown’s request.

Additional information regarding the district’s justification and findings will be released when it becomes available.
