Obituary: Daniel P. Thompson, 75, Bloomfield

Daniel P. Thompson, 75, of Bloomfield, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was born June 2, 1943, in Metcalfe County. He was retired from General Electric, and was an avid hunter and UK fan.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Reid Thompson and Ruel Thompson; and one sister, Laverne Rucker.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lois Hilbert Thompson; six children, Jackie (Paul) Bishop, Lana Thompson, Rhonda Thompson, Jimmy (Cordelia) Beach, Greg (Sheila) Thompson, and Michelle (Ron) Logston; two sisters, Reba Yates and Mildred Abney; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in Highview Cemetery in Chaplin with Lana Chesser officiating.

Visitation is noon – 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, and 9-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
