High Grove area home heavily damaged in Sunday night blaze

Monday, Aug. 20, 2018 — A High Grove area home was heavily damaged in a blaze Sunday night that was reported just before midnight.

At 11:46 p.m., the Nelson County Fire Department, Nelson County EMS and the sheriff’s office was dispatched to the area of the intersection of Col. Cox Road and High Grove Road.

When firefighters arrived at the home, they reported it was fully engulfed in flames. County firefighters requested assistance from the Northeast Nelson Fire Department to battle the fire. At about 12:40 a.m., firefighters reported the fire was under control.  Firefighters were on the scene until just after 3 a.m.
