Two people injured in two-vehicle crash on Springfield Road at top of Burg Hill

Thursday, Aug 30, 2018 — Two people were transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning on Springfield Road near the top near Burg Hill at Holy Trinity Cemetery.

At 11:33 a.m., Nelson County EMS, the Nelson County Fire Department and the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 6700 block of Springfield Road for a two-vehicle injury accident involving a Buick SUV and a Chevy S10 truck.

One person was trapped in their vehicle and required firefighters to assist with extrication. Traffic on Springfield Road was stopped for about 30 minutes while first-responders worked the scene and was reopened once the vehicles were removed.

Both victims were treated by EMS at the scene before they were transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital.
