Obituary: Tony Johnson, 69, New Haven

Tony Johnson, 69, of New Haven, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at his residence. He was born Nov. 4, 1948, in Nelson County. He worked construction for Hamilton Construction. He was a member of Abbey of Gethsemani and the 700 Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Johnson; his parents, Earl and Marjorie Johnson; one grandson, Andrew Wayne Johnson; and one nephew, Ricky Martin.

He is survived by eight children, Leslie Chapman, Ronny Johnson, Toni Johnson, Anthony Johnson Jr., Scotty Johnson, Janet Johnson, Donna Johnson and Dana Johnson; five sisters, Ceil Bryan, Mary Nalley, Theresa Donahue, Maggie Jackson and Annette Price; four brothers, Jesse Johnson, Randall Johnson, Bobby Johnson and Sammy Johnson; 29 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, at the Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery with Bro. Sammy Johnson officiating.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, and 9-11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, at the funeral home.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
