Obituary: Bonnie Kathleen Nalley, 79, Bardstown

Bonnie Kathleen Nalley, 79, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, at her residence. She was born July 6, 1939, in Lebanon to the late Thomas Bohon and Mary Dolly Wathen Nalley. She was a retired school teacher for Nelson County Board of Education and formerly taught at the Washington, Jefferson and Marion County school systems. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was an organist for 25 years. She is the last descendant in her family to carry the Nalley surname.

She is survived by one cousin, Mary Ann (J.B.) Bryant of Bardstown; and her caregivers John Lee and Betty Fenwick of Bardstown.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with the Reverend Terry Bradshaw officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, and 8:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with a 6 p.m. Wednesday prayer service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
