Boston Road home suffers extensive damage in early morning fire

Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018 — A Boston Road home was heavily damaged by a fire that was reported just before midnight Wednesday night.

Just before midnight, the Nelson County Fire Department and Nelson County EMS were dispatched for a single family home on fire in the 5600 block of Boston Road, near the intersection of Boston Road with McCubbin Lane. Firefighters from the Boston Fire Department were also requested for additional manpower and supply a water tanker to bring water to the fire scene.

Deputies with the sheriff’s office were first on the scene, and they reported flames were visible from the roof of the home. The fire was a threat to other structures near the home.

Fire crews had the fire under control within about 30 minutes. Firefighters were on the scene until about 2:30 a.m.
