Three arrested early Friday morning on theft, burglary-related charges

Friday, Oct. 19, 2018 — Three people were arrested early Friday morning after deputies with the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office were called to conduct a welfare check on some individuals on Yates-Cooney Neck Road.

At 1:46 a.m., Deputies Brandon Bryan and Levi Preston responded to a call for help from an individual who said help was needed for him and his friends. Officers located a blue Dodge van on the side of the road in the area. The vehicle was reported as stolen.

Officers found one person hiding inside the van, and two other individuals in tall grass nearby. One of the individuals attempted to run, but was captured by Preston.

Officers also determined that one of the individuals had entered a residence and stolen two firearms, as well as broken into a vehicle at that address and took some items.

William Chance Frye, 19, of Mount Washington, was charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000; public intoxication; and complicity to first-degree burglary.

Brett Wayne Dockery, 32, of Louisville, was charged with first-degree burglary; theft by unlawful taking (firearm) (2 counts); theft by unlawful taking from a vehicle under $500; assault, third-degree; fleeing or evading police (on foot), first-degree; wanton endangerment, first-degree; receiving stolen property under $10,000; and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (2 counts). Dockery also had an outstanding bench warrant from Jefferson County and an indictment warrant from Bullitt County that included charges of trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree (4 or more grams cocaine); possession controlled substances, first-degree (methamphetamine); possession drug paraphernalia; and contempt of court.

Bailey Jane Holt was charged with first-degree burglary; theft by unlawful taking under $500; theft by unlawful taking (firearm) (2 counts); and receiving stolen property under $10,000.

The stolen vehicle was recovered from the scene.

All three were lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
