Police arrest local man in connection with Friday morning WesBanco robbery

Friday, Dec. 7, 2018 — Bardstown Police arrested a local man in connection with the robbery Friday morning at the North Third Street WesBanco bank branch.

Ledrick Shuntay Edwards, 39, of Bardstown, was detained and questioned by police in the hours following the robbery, which happened just after the bank opened at 9 a.m. According to jail records, Edwards was arrested on a second-degree robbery charge and booked into the Nelson County Jail at 12:45 p.m.

The robbery was the second at the branch banch in three weeks. The building previously served as a branch bank for Your Community Bank and before that, First Federal Savings Bank. Prior to the most recent robberies, the branch — then home to First Federal — was robbed in Dec. 2014. The branch was later robbed — in March 2015 — when the building was home to a Your Community Bank branch.
