Obituary: John Wesley Richardson, 86, Taylorsville

John Wesley Richardson, 86, of Taylorsville, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, at Baptist Healthcare in Louisville. He was born Dec. 27, 1932, in Spencer County to the late Lewis H. and Katie Burgin Richardson. He was a farmer, a retired employee of General Electric, a U.S. Army veteran, a member of Plum Creek Baptist Church, Springfield Lions Club, and Springfield Masonic Lodge #50 F & AM.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly Mattingly Richardson; one son, Darrell Richardson; and one sister, Pauline Ferris.

He is survived by one daughter, Della (William) Swan of Shepherdsville; one son, John Thomas (Nancy) Richardson of Bloomfield; one brother, Robert Thomas Richardson of Taylorsville; two grandchildren, Dr. Sara (Clayton) Rogers and Madison Swan; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral was Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Mavis Bennett officiating. Burial was in the Big Spring Cemetery.

The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield was in charge of arrangements.
