Juvenile who made social media threat against city schools to face charges

Monday, Feb. 11, 2019 — The Bardstown Police Department has extra officers on patrol in the area of the Bardstown City Schools campus after information about a threat was received by the city police department.

According to BCS Superintendent Dr. Ryan Clark, the threat was received via social media, and the city police and school administrators were able to identify the juvenile who made the unspecified threat. The juvenile is not a student in the city school system, and does not live in our community, Clark explained in a social media post.

The juvenile will face charges for making the threatening social media post, he said.

The city schools are operating on a normals schedule, with additional police present in addition to the Officer Andrew Riley, the district’s school resource officer.
