Obituary: Raymond ‘Dee’ Clayton, 74, Holy Cross

Raymond “Dee” Clayton, 74, of Holy Cross, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019, at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore. He was born July 16, 1944, in Holy Cross to the late William Rodman and Mary Bertha Donahue Clayton.  He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam war.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Marie Miles.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary Anne Ball (Jimmy) of Culvertown and Libby Sims (Nick Jr.) of Bardstown; two brothers, Kenneth Clayton (Rita) of Holy Cross and Bernard “Bummy” Clayton (Bobby) of Bardstown; and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation was chosen. The memorial services is 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 59 New Haven Road, Loretto with Deacon Joseph R. Dant officiating. Burial is in the Lebanon National Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
