Raywick woman severely injured Monday in single-vehicle Balltown Road crash

Monday, Feb. 18, 2019 — A Raywick woman suffered severe injuries early Monday morning when the 2006 Volkswagen she was driving ran off the road when she swerved to miss hitting a deer in the roadway and struck a tree at about 5:55 a.m. in the 3100 block of Balltown Road, KY 46.

According to a Nelson County Sheriff’s Office press release, Rhonda R. Thomas, no age given, of Raywick, had to be extricated from her vehicle after the crash by members of the New Hope Fire and Nelson County Fire departments. Nelson County EMS treated the victim at the scene and transported her to the Nelson County Fairgrounds where she was transferred to a medical helicopter. She was flown to University Hospital in Louisville for treatment of her injuries.
