LaRue teenager rescued after pickup truck runs off road into Rolling Fork floodwaters

Sunday, March 3, 2019 — A LaRue County youth was rescued late Saturday night by first-responders after the pickup truck he was in ran off the highway in the area of the 1700 block of Stiles Road, went down a steep embankment and landed in the Rolling Fork River.

A passer-by’s 911 call just before midnight was transferred from LaRue County to Nelson County Dispatch that the teenager’s truck ran off the road, and that he climbed on top of the truck that was no in the water.

Fire and law enforcement responding for the accident initially did not have an exact address for the accident location.First-responders in Marion and LaRue checked roads in the area in their counties while Several deputies checked roads in the Howardstown area until he was located on Stiles Road.

The teen was checked out by Nelson County EMS for possible facial injuries.
