Arkansas woman arrested as suspect in Friday afternoon bank robbery

Friday, May 3, 2019 — An Arkansas woman was arrested Friday after she allegedly robbed the Wilson & Muir Bank branch on Culpepper Street just before 2 p.m. Friday afternoon.

The woman, identified as Crystal Diane Gibbons, 28, of Monette, Arkansas, was arrested and faces charges that include robbery, second-degree; wanton endangerment, first-degree (police officer); fleeing and evading police, first-degree (motor vehicle); possession of a controlled substance; criminal mischief, first-degree; criminal trespassing, third-degree; reckless driving, first-degree; operating on a suspended license; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Just before 2 p.m., local law enforcement was advised by Nelson County Dispatch that the bank had been robbed by a woman who fled the scene in a white Chevrolet HHR. At the time of the call, Bardstown Police Officer Brad Carrico was conducting a traffic stop on KY 245 when he saw the suspect’s vehicle turn north from Culpepper onto KY 245. He pursued the vehicle onto Spencer Mattingly, and the pursuit ended in an open field. Carrico had the female in custody by 2:04 p.m.

According to the logs at the Nelson County Jail, she was booked into the jail at 5:18 p.m. Friday.
