Obituary: Anna Marie Conklin, SCN, 86

Anna Marie Conklin, SCN, 86 (formerly Sister Josepha) died Thursday, May 16, 2019, at Nazareth Home in Louisville. She was a native of Louisville and was a professed Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 60 years.

She served in educational ministries, teaching English, French and Latin at Sacred Heart High School in Memphis, Tenn; La Salette Academy in Covington; Nazareth College, Nazareth; St. Mary College in Leavenworth, Kansas and Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree, Mass. From 1974-1997, she served as an English Professor at Spalding University. In 1974, she earned her PhD in English from the University of North Carolina.

She is survived by her extended family and by her religious community.

Visitation and prayer service is 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2019, at the Nazareth Home Chapel in Louisville.

The wake is 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2019, at St. Vincent de Paul Church at Nazareth.

The Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Nazareth with burial in the Nazareth Cemetery.

The Ratterman Funeral Home in Louisville is in charge of arrangements.
