Juveniles face alcohol charges after vehicle crashes into J.T. Riggs residence

Wednesday, July 3, 2019 — The New Hope Fire Department and deputies from the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office responded early Wednesday morning to a non-injury accident involving a residence struck by a 2005 Cheverolet Colorado.

According to the sheriff’s office press release, the vehicle was traveling south on J.T. Riggs Road when the pickup truck left the left side of the road, ran through the yard and hit the front porch of a home in the 200 block of J.T. Riggs road.

Three juveniles were in the pickup truck that struck the home. The home suffered some structural damage from the impact. The three juveniles were cited for alcohol-related charges and turned over to guardians. No one was injured in the crash.

Deputy Blake Oliver is handling the accident investigation.
