Ohio woman facing theft charges after stolen car recovered by sheriff’s office

Wednesday, July 10, 2019, 9:35 a.m. — The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office recovered a stolen vehicle early Wednesday morning and an Ohio woman is facing theft-related charges.

Shannon Denise Odum, 36, of Akron, Ohio, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000.

At about 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, deputies acted on a tip that a Jaguar reported stolen Tuesday out of Nelson County was located at a home in the 4000 block of New Haven Road near its intersection with Ritchie Lane.

Officers located the vehicle, confirmed it was stolen, and took Odum into custody. The vehicle was impounded pending notification of its owner and Odum was arrested and lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
