Recent Nelson County high school grads receive Farm Bureau scholarships

Wednesday, July 17, 2019 — Eighteen recent high school graduates from Nelson County are recipients of $1,000 scholarships from Nelson County Farm Bureau. In partnership with the County Farm Bureaus, the Kentucky Farm Bureau Education Foundation awarded more than $460,000 this year to deserving students from across the Commonwealth.
Abby Berry plans to attend the University of Kentucky to study biosystems engineering. Berry is the daughter of Marion and Jennifer Berry of Bloomfield.
Jordan Cross plans to attend Bellarmine University to study exercise science. Cross’ parents are Allen and Jeri Cross of Cox’s Creek.
Easton Culver plans to attend the University of Louisville to study computer engineering. Culver’s parents are Anthony and Jennifer Culver of Bardstown.
Carly Douglas plans to attend Elizabethtown Community to study radiography. Douglas is the daughter of Tracy and Rhonda Douglas of Bardstown.
Justin Gagne plans to attend Murray State University to study elementary education. Gagne is the son of Scott and Mary Gagne of Bardstown.
Garrett Hall plans to attend the University of Kentucky to study chemical engineering. Hall is the son of Matthew and Gina Hall of Cox’s Creek.
Michael Hamilton plans to attend the University of Kentucky to study communications. Hamilton is the son of John and Perry Hamilton of Bardstown.
Savanna Hill plans to attend the University of Kentucky to study agriculture economics. Hill is the daughter of Chad Hill and Tammy Price of Bardstown.
McKenna Hinkebein plans to attend the University of Kentucky to study political science. Hinkebein’s parents are Robbie and Stacey Hinkebein of Bardstown.
Nathaniel Jones plans to attend Elizabethtown Community to study mechanical engineering. Jones is the son of Stephen and Michelle Jones of Bardstown.
Madison Lindsey plans to attend Elizabethtown Community to study business and criminal justice. Lindsey’s parents are Todd and Kim Lindsey of Cox’s Creek.
Jordan Miles plans to attend the University of Louisville to study health and human resources. Miles’ parents are Troy and Bernadette O’Bryan of Cox’s Creek.
Cassie Parrish plans to attend the University of Louisville to study nursing. Parrish is the daughter of Darin and Dianna Parish of Boston.
Madeline Robbins plans to attend Western Kentucky University to study nursing. Robbins is the daughter of Richie Robbins and Tonya Young of Bardstown.
Lydia Sandefur plans to attend Boyce College to study education. Sandefur is the daughter of Darrell and Leslie Sandefur of Shepherdsville.
Jillian Sympson plans to attend the University of Kentucky to study animal science. Sympson’s parents are James Sympson and Elizabeth Johnson of Louisville.
Farm Bureau scholarships, offered annually, are awarded to recipients who display the greatest levels of academic excellence, involvement in extracurricular activities, leadership abilities and financial need.
