Obituary: Debra Kay Carter Ayers, 60, New Haven

Debra Kay Carter Ayers, 60, of New Haven, went to be with her heavenly Father on Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. She was born on June 22, 1959, in Bardstown to the late Lester and Cecilia Culver Carter. She first and foremost loved her grandchildren and family. She also loved being outdoors.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Crystal Lynn Holt; and her parents, Lester Guy and Mary Cecilia Culver Carter.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Wayne Ayers of New Haven; one daughter, Danielle Thompson of New Haven; two sisters, Jan (Donnie) Smith and Denise “Neice” Carter, both of New Haven; three brothers, Wayne Greenwell, Keith Carter, and Lester (Adrienne) Carter, all of New Haven; five grandchildren, Brandon, Trinity, Gage, Gunner, and Gracie; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2019, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church with the Rev. Matthew Hardesty officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019, with a 4 p.m. prayer service and 8:30-10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2019, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home New Haven Chapel, 167 N. Main St., in New Haven.
