Obituary: Darrel A. Kimminau, 57, Lincoln, Neb.
Darrel A. Kimminau, 57, of Lincoln, Neb., died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019. He was born Oct. 17, 1961, to Arnold and Marie (Hubl) Kimminau in Hastings, Neb. He was a man of many talents, working in architectural salvage, construction, refuse, and woodworking. He married Linda M. Friend on Aug. 14, 1982, and they had two beautiful daughters. Darrel was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Husker fan, loved music of all kinds, garage sales, working on the farm, loved the outdoors, and in his last two years he spent his time connecting with people sending videos and messages. He mostly cherished his time spent with his wife, two daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie; one brother, Raymond; his father-in-law, Robert Friend; his grandparents; one niece, Amanda Kimminau; and one brother-in-law, Randy Edmisten.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda; two daughters, Sara (Andrew) O’Connor and Nicole (John) Bring; his father, Arnold Kimminau; two sisters, Marlene (Mark) Pullmann and Karen Edmisten; one brother, Dale (Mary) Kimminau; his mother-in-law, Lorene Friend; four brothers-in-law, Fred (Lisa) Friend, Ken (Kelly) Friend, Bob (Denise) Friend, Tim (Lori) Friend; one sister-in-law, Judy (Brad) Timberlake; five grandchildren, Ava Jarecke, Jaxon O’Conner, Jameson O’Connor, Evelyn Bring and Vale Bring; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 4500 Duxhall Dr, Lincoln, Neb., with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019, with the Rosary at 6 p.m. at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Dr., Lincoln, Neb.
