Obituary: George F. Froehlich, 77, Cox’s Creek

George F. Froehlich, 77, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, in Nelson County. He was born Sept. 24, 1941, in Astoria, N.Y., to the late George and Helen Boris Froehlich. He was a former employee of Armor Elevator Company then went on to work for JCPS as a school bus aid for special needs children. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and a former member of Rebel’s Square Dance Club.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Holmes Froehlich of Cox’s Creek; one daughter, Julia Hendrick of Louisville; and one granddaughter, Ashley Hendrick of Louisville.

The family followed his wishes for cremation and a memorial service is being planned for a later date.

The Houghlin Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
